How To Visit Us:

We are open to visitors for our weekly fundraisers called Sanctuary Support.

Thursday-Sunday
10:00am - First Entry
10:30am - Goat Grooming 101
1:00pm - Last Entry
2:30pm - All public gone for the day.

We are closed for visitors Monday-Wednesday.

Baby birds, injured birds, or wildlife: Gilcrease Nature Sanctuary is not a wildlife facility and is not allowed to take in wildlife. Please visit our "FOUND AN ANIMAL?" page to review the resources we have provided for your perusal.

Animal Intake: We are on an intake freeze and not accepting new animal residents at this time. Our budget is limited and we have an obligation to the animals already under our stewardship. We only accept new residents on a case by case basis. In most instances we require you to take the animal to a vet first. Please visit out "NEED TO REHOME AN ANIMAL?" page to review the resources we have provided for your perusal.

Roosters & Waterfowl: We are at capacity for both and unable to take them in at this time. Please visit out "NEED TO REHOME AN ANIMAL?" page to review the resources we have provided for your perusal.

Chicks: We will not take them as there is a risk one may be a rooster. We only accept adult female chicken hens, and they have to be vetted first. Please visit out "NEED TO REHOME AN ANIMAL?" page to review the resources we have provided for your perusal.

Eggs: We do not hatch or sell the eggs our various birds lay.

Adopting, Selling, Breeding: We do not adopt out, sell, or breed our residents. Please visit The Animal Foundation or Henderson Animal Care and Control Facility.

How to Help:

Physical donations may be dropped off at our front gate and we bring them in as we see them. No appointment necessary.
